Spin pups

Our goal at QuietWood has always been to produce a sound, healthy, good-tempered dog that is as close to the AKC breed standard as possible. We always breed with conformation showing in mind, but of course we know that not every puppy is destined for the show ring. When it comes to Spinoni, we also feel very strongly that it is our obligation to produce dogs with superb hunting instincts. And we have discovered that as much as we love it when our dogs are successful in the show ring or hunting in the field, the best part of breeding dogs is hearing from puppy buyers that they think they have the smartest dog in the world and that they are very happy with their new family member.

With all that in mind, we tend to plan our breedings way ahead of time and usually have names on a waiting list long before the puppies are born. To see our planned Spinone breedings, please click on the link below.

We take our responsibilities as breeders very seriously. There is so much more to breeding than producing a litter of puppies. The decision to breed a dog should not be taken lightly and should always be with the intent of protecting and improving the breed. Potential dams and sires should be of sound mind and body. The physical characteristics of the dog and its ancestry must be considered and evaulated with a cricital eye. Our puppies are sold with limited registration and are expected to be neutered or spayed unless other arrangements are specifically agreed to. We rarely sell a dog on full registration unless it is sold under contract requiring the new owner to make a good faith effort to show the dog to its AKC conformation championship and fully health test prior to breeding.
